Tank capacity and daily extraction are different measurements. A model rated for several litres per day can have a much smaller tank, so plan for emptying during use. Where supported, continuous drainage can be a practical option for longer operating periods.

What to consider before buying

A dehumidifier cannot repair a leak or water ingress. Extraction may fall noticeably in a cold room. The compressor and fan remain audible, so consider running it before bedtime. A protective filter does not make it a HEPA air purifier.

Installation and care

Can it help dry laundry?

Removing moisture released by wet clothes can assist indoor drying. Keep laundry away from the grilles and prevent water dripping onto the appliance. There is no guaranteed drying time.

How much electricity will it use?

Cost depends on actual power draw, running time and your tariff: power in kW × operating hours × price per kWh. A plug-in energy meter helps measure your own use.

Should I choose a larger model?
